Pregnancy Yoga has many benefits for Mums to be, not least of which is giving yourself the gift of an hour each week to relax, connect with your baby and simply be present. Each class uses yoga poses, specially adapted for pregnancy, helping alleviate physical ailments while also increasing flexibility and building strength. We practise positions that maximise comfort and mobility during birth and all the time bringing our awareness back to our breath using different techniques. Lourda has particular expertise in teaching Mums with pelvic pain (PGP) and other pregnancy related ailments and is skilled in adapting poses to help each student work within safe limits.
Yoga Meditation Pregnancy classes have a strong emphasis on mindfulness. Mindfulness has been proven to have many benefits including improved sleep and overall sense of wellbeing, and a decrease in stress and anxiety.  Using the breath, visualisations and positive affirmations, Lourda’s classes help empower women to have faith in their body’s innate ability to grow and birth their baby. You will leave ensuring both Mind and Body are working in perfect harmony, and most importantly, you have a set of skills that can be used long after the birth is over.

What Do I Need for Class?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move about in easily and make sure to have a pair of socks and jumper to keep warm for the nice long meditation at the end of class.  You may like to bring some water with you to keep hydrated. Mats and props are provided.
