Welcome home to yourself with this meditative class. Yoga experience is not required, just a desire to be present and let go. Restorative Yoga invites the body to truly release with gentle poses supported by blankets and bolsters. Starting with a breath meditation, we hold poses for up to ten minutes to help release layers of tension and let you feel at ease in your mind and body. Using touch, candlelight, and relaxing music we ensure that any stress you are holding is let go. Class ends with a nourishing yoga nidra meditation. This is an ancient practice that invites the body to sleep while the mind stays awake, leading to great insight, empowerment, and healing. Enjoy being present with yourself, switching off and deeply relaxing. You will leave feeling energised, yet with an inner stillness and peace.
Restorative Yoga can be a great aid to managing depression and anxiety, and can help in recovery from illness or injury. It is an ideal class for those new to yoga, for those who find a seated meditation difficult or experienced yogi who need to explore a more meditative practice.
What to Bring:
All mats and props are provided. Dress warmly and comfortably and bring some water if you need to. You may like to bring a favourite blanket or eye pillow for extra comfort.
